Crritic! – Veranstaltungsreihe zur Kunstkritik in der Schweiz

Ist «Krritiker!» – wie in Samuel Becketts «Warten auf Godot» – heute in der bildenden Kunst ein Schimpfwort? Was wollen wir tun, damit es keines mehr ist? Was sagen wir überhaupt damit, wenn wir uns KritikerInnen nennen? Oder wollen wir am Ende sogar, dass «Crritic!» erst zum Schimpfwort wird?

«Crritic!» ist eine Veranstaltungsreihe zur Kunstkritik in der Schweiz. An sechs Abenden bringt sie KritikerInnen und LeserInnen in verschiedenen Regionen zusammen und regt an zum Austausch über den Stand der Dinge im Kontext des Schreibens über Kunst. Und sie soll die Bildung einer diskussionsfreudigen und tatkräftigen Gemeinschaft von in diesem Bereich Tätigen fördern.

«Crritic!» wird von Aoife Rosenmeyer und Daniel Morgenthaler – beide Schreibende (unter Anderem) – aufgegleist und betreut. Nach einem ersten Workshop mit eingeladenen Kritikerinnen und Kritikern aus verschiedenen Teilen der Schweiz im Oktober 2014 soll diese öffentliche Veranstaltungsreihe es ermöglichen, die initiierten Diskussionen aufzunehmen und daran in grösseren Gruppen weiterzudenken.

«Crritic!» wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Pro Helvetia – Schweizer Kulturstiftung entwickelt und wird unterstützt von der AICA – Association internationale des critiques d’art: Section suisse.

Crritic! – discussing Swiss art criticism

Is ‘Crritic!’ – as in Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot – an obscenity in fine art today? What do we want to do to change that? What do we mean, in fact, when we call ourselves critics? Or do we ultimately want ‘Crritic!’ to become an offensive term?

‘Crritic!’ is a six-part series of events about art criticism in Switzerland. It brings together critics and readers from different regions and stimulates exchange about the state of things in the context of writing about art. And we want to promote the development of a community of the people who are active in the field, an energetic community that welcomes challenge.

‘Crritic!’ is initiated and lead by Aoife Rosenmeyer and Daniel Morgenthaler – both writers (amongst other things). Following a first workshop with invited critics from different regions of Switzerland in October 2014, this series of public events should enable us to continue the discussions that started then, thinking these ideas through in larger gatherings.

«Crritic!» has been developed in collaboration with Pro Helvetia – Swiss Arts Council and is supported by AICA – Association internationale des critiques d’art: Section suisse.
